breakfast: omelet with torta

Before: Cooking the torta omelet

the photos don’t do the omelet justice. it’s much more scrumptious tasting and looking than this (i used a camera phone kasi and the kitchen is not lit for a photo shoot). it’s basically pork and seafood torta and i put a bit of cheddar on the egg. Paired with sinangag (garlic fried rice) and some fresh tomatoes (or ketchup), it’s a great way to start the day.

After: Looking all nice and golden brown

ALWAYS with ketchup (preferably UFC tamis-anghang!)

Otherwise, this has to be eaten with hot rice and gatas damulag.

*shaking head … i only have gatas damulag with newly cooked white rice. don't even like it with sinangag. white rice, with a little sugar.

i know, but what do you have with the gatas and rice? at least champorado has tuyo (i know it's supposed to be the contrast of flavors and all, but i still don't get that).

anyway, back to the rice? you just have it like that? with gatas and sugar? yuck. i have it with salt of course, and a salty dish, whether pork, chicken or fish.

yep, just like that, gatas and rice. no salty stuff.
