i was on obssesive-compulsive mode today so i cleaned up my cabinets and organized photos from way back (around 10 to 15 years ago) and classified them according to place or class or date. i distinctly remember mt. pulag. this climb literally came when i was at my lowest, both in my personal and professional life. funny what conquering a mountain (the highest in luzon, at 2,922m above sea level) does to your ego and your soul. it flattens your ego, and inflates your soul. what a spiritual experience. this mountain may have literally saved my life.

(photo credits to the UP Mountaineers member who took these but whose name escapes me now. i’ll ask our common friends asap.)

when was this? (and that question is not an oblique commentary on your personal and professional life) the photos look amazing. i can't even imagine what it must have felt like standing at the peak.

ha.ha. i knew you wouldn't be shy. around 2001. i look back to it as my millenium midlife crisis. he.he. i have to edit this and give credit to the UP Mountaineers member who took the pic. the problem is i forgot his name. it was D (the sweet pastry with the hole) who invited me to join the climb.
