hot!hot!hot!

Screen grab from Accuweather.com

man, this weather is hot enough to fry my brain. it’s definitely made me lethargic. we’ve been experiencing a brutal heat wave for the last 5 days. temps have been nearing the hundred-degree mark (that’s about 37-38 degrees celsius). i’ve been hydrating as much as i can, constantly refilling my ice cube trays as i’ve taken to crunching on ice chips.

last night, i stayed under the very cold shower for almost 30 minutes; my fingertips started looking like raisins. but the moment i stepped out, i started perspiring again. the AC in my apartment is on every second i’m home. i shudder to think what my utility bill would be next month.

almost glad my parents are not here. i don’t think they’ll survive in this kind of weather. but i hear it’s not any better there. they say they’ve taken to hiding in the air conditioned parts of the house as well. mom has been teasing dad because he was the one who had his heart set on going on vacation during the summer. mom now says he’s the first one to hightail it to the rooms with AC πŸ˜›

wow, that's hot! (in a bad way). yup, it's officially the rainy season here but we still get some hot and humid days. hot is not a problem, it's the humidity that kills. it's like living in a steam room. it's true, as you're drying yourself off from a shower, you start perspiring again.

just remember to drink a lot. not just crunch ice. lots and lots of water.

you work nights so i assume it's a bit better? and i assume your office has centralized airconditioning too?

yeah, the office has centralized AC. that first 100-degree day, everybody was saying how much they actually looked forward to going to the office (note that they didn't saying they were excited about working, LOL!) because the AC is particularly cold (we always wear sweaters, fleece pullovers or coats inside).
