blessed cookies and other sweet things

now on to desserts. i almost laughed when my mom brought some san nicolas cookies this morning and just about when i was about to bite into one she said i had to say my prayers first. it turned out these were the real deal, the ones that were blessed in church (though some commercial cousins are available). don’t ask me if i prayed. if i did, it would have been for more cookies 😛

then there’s some kalame ube with latik (purple yam pie with caramelized coconut topping). this goes well with a scoop of ice cream but on it’s own it’s still quite good.

and lastly, the last of the yemas from the kids’ stash. this is really good because it has dayap (keylime) rind in it.

well, i hope your sweet tooth has been satiated. mine was 😛

HA HA HA, see post above regarding the san nicolas cookies … man, i want some of those yemas … actually, i want some pastillas now. the ones my parents brought back (3 bags) just weren't enough 😛 so, where did you get the kalame ube? did your mom make it?
