laing, or taro leaves in coconut milk

i went to the fil-am store last saturday and picked up a couple of cooked dishes, pancit luglug and laing. the pancit luglug was meh. the laing was actually good … would have been even better if they made it a little spicier and they did not skimp on the ingredients. i mean, good heavens, a small tub and it only had 2 medium-sized shrimps and a sliver of pork. so, i bought a quarter pound of pork belly and a quarter pound of shrimps. i sliced the pork into small cubes and sauteed it with garlic and a dash of salt and pepper. tossed in the shrimp, then added the already cooked laing. i tossed in a few more red pepper flakes for extra kick and placed a scoop on top of white rice. hmmm, just divine!
