inihaw na dulong sa dahon ng saging na sinahugan ng kamias

do these fruits look familiar to you? (just wanted to remind you how kamias fruits look like after your kangkong misadventure. he.he). my dad harvested a bunch from our kamias tree and my mom put then atop the dulong (see this post on fresh and fried dulong) that she had been planning to cook by steaming.

this is the cooked dish. delicious!

    Sometimes I wonder if you just throw random words together and make up dish names 😛 i've never had this before … I don't think I've even seen it before. Is it an appetizer? Side dish? I miss the kamias, though. Used to get whole bunches of them from the tree in the backyard.

    ha.ha. obviously i invent dish names a lot 🙂 but this dish had been here long before, and i've seen it cooked in other homes here in betis. (maybe it's a local dish? i doubt that though). dulong has a milder flavor than alamang, becuase they're actually fish instead of shrimp. the saltiness of the dulong goes really well with the tartness of the kamias. you can actually replace the dulong with alamang in this dish.
