pan-roasted tuna belly

my brother brought some tuna belly from davao recently and since i was too lazy (as usual) to start a grill the old fashioned way, i just made a pan-grilled version. i seasoned the tuna with some McCormick taco mix (made up of chili powder, cumin, oregano and paprika) and surprisingly, it turned out really good. i also put a few crushed garlic cloves in the oil-butter mixture that i roasted this in for extra flavor.

remember, you have to have a really hot pan, otherwise, the fish will stick and you’ll end up with tuna shreds instead.

That looks really good! I thought it was chicken before I read the blog post title 😛 I like tuna, but I like it raw (as in sushi)

yup. i prefer tuna and salmon as sashimi, but since this was brought in frozen, i had no choice but to cook it. (too long to thaw, and didn't want to take the risk).
