we share a common disdain for ampalaya, right? what do you know, our indonesian neighbors have apparently made a way to make them a bit more palatable — ampalaya chips! sold under the matahari brand here, they’re crunchy, salty, sweet and spicy, and i guess fried. all in all, bad for the health! ha.ha. but they’re good, though the bitter aftertaste rudely reminds you of what they’re really made of.
oh, there’s another good ampalaya concoction i have to tell you. dr. pearl’s bittergourd milk. you’d never think ampalaya shake will be delicious, but it is! more of that in a later post, when i will actually attempt to down these chips with that drink. 🙂
