ceviche y mas

my friend E was in the area yesterday for a work training session and we decided to go out for dinner. went to a peruvian place called acuario, which serves — as the blog post title says — wonderful seafood dishes. we ordered the sampler — “4 types of ceviches including tiradito de pescado, pulpo, mixto and shrimps,” according to the menu. it was AWESOME! we had to do a bit of googling to figure out exactly what it was we were ordering. found out a tiradito is a peruvian raw fish dish influenced by the japanese. i really enjoyed it 🙂

oh, when they served the bread it came with a dip that had hints of mustard and pimiento in it. it was addictive. the server gave me a smile and said “house secrets” when i asked what was in it. we also ordered grilled beef hearts and cassava fries and washed it all down with a pitcher of sangria 😛 BTW, these photos are from my cellphone camera that’s why they’re grainy 😦
