do you think this is a chico fruit or not?

not! finally found the tabon-tabon! remember i was telling you about an ingredient they use in the south to make their fish kinilaw creamier, less fishy, and more delicious?

but the fruit looks weird, doesn’t it?

what they do is they scrape out the meat, mash it and include it in the vinegar-chili-lime mix. i tell you, you have to taste kinilaw (ceviche) as delicious as this.

    my first thought was old coconut. then i remembered the tabon-tabon, which i googled after you mentioned it in the other blogpost. i still can't imagine how it would taste. can you get ceviche like that in manila or pampanga? or would you have to go to other parts of the country?

    nope, as far as i know they only use this in the mindanao. god bless them!
