i don’t know what this is called but it comes from some sort of palm. found this on the buffet table of a tropical resort. do you think this is a flower or a fruit? i’m sure this isn’t edible. they were using it as a table accent only. but it is organic, not plastic.

which reminds me, do you remember when we were kids, in comedy shows or movies they always had a character mistake plastic grapes for real ones, and would (try to) elicit a few laughs by eating them by mistake? i remember it was dolphy who always tried to do this…, and do you remember a lot of homes had plastic fruits for display as their table centerpiece. at least i saw a lot of them in betis. he.he.

hey, it doesn’t mean i tried to eat that fruit/flower on the picture, okay? 😀 but it does look succulent doesn’t it? 😛

i'm stumped. i have no clue what this is. i initially thought it was some sort of a centerpiece made of langka (jackfruit). how sure are you it's not edible? it does look interesting 🙂

i can't remember the movie characters but i do remember all the plastic fruit decorations 🙂 some of the more sosi homes had them in glass.

oh yes, the glass fruits! 😀 ha.ha. and yes, only the rich had them (which means we had none), but at least we had real ones good to eat 🙂
