coffee and other goodies at the piazza

caffe florian at the piazza san marco in venice

you know how it is when you’re traveling, there are so many things to see that you’re rushing from one place to another. sometimes, meals become rushed. but not in italy. never in italy, where a meal can last a couple of hours — at least. to a bunch of new yorkers, that pace certainly takes some getting used to 😉 my cousin wanted to find this famous venetian coffehouse featured in samantha brown’s show. i wanted to sit down, relax (get off my hurting feet) and take a moment to enjoy where i was. on our second day in venice, we both got our wishes: we got some sandwiches, quiche, lemon soda and cappuccinos at caffe florian and spent some time listening to classical music while watching the antics of fellow tourists.

that quiche looks amazing. btw, i've always wondered how the diners fended off the pigeons from partaking in the meal 🙂
