seafood chowder

i’ve been so envious of all the seafood goodness you’ve been posting that when i came across this seafood chowder at tarry market i couldn’t resist. ended up being a great buy. the seafood was fresh but didn’t taste, well, fishy. it had scallops, shrimp, chunks of fish (looked like salmon) and even mussels. best of all none of the seafood became chewy β€” even after i nuked it.

    that looks real good. did you eat it with bread. some slices of crunchy french baguette would have been the perfect partner for that.

    Was in San Francisco over the weekend and had lovely clam chowder by the wharf. The best clam chowder I did have was in Maine. Have tried seafood chowder but always end up preferring clam chowder – and not a lot of potatoes please and the clams must be evident everywhere.

    atche, did you have the clam chowder at boudin? i had that when i was there a couple of years ago. even brought home some in cans. but even the chowder in the various stalls at the wharf was pretty good.

    BB, no bread with this. it was kinda chilly so i microwaved the chowder as soon as i got home from the market πŸ™‚

    Kats – we had it exactly at Boudin… made sure I brought home for family a few loaves too. I had some at the Cliff House too.
