candied kamias (bilimbi)

i’ve been craving dikyam kamias (candied bilimbi) for quite some time now. also, picked/preserved mangoes and santol. no such luck yet on the latter, but imagine my delight when i saw that my sister bought some candied kamias a few days ago.

sweet, sour, salty. wish they were spicy. but good, and brought back childhood memories at first bite.

    i've never had dikiam kamias 😦 just mansanitas. are they made the same way? what's a pickled santol, is it just putting cubed santol in vinegar and sugar?
