Sisig liempo

We still had leftover roasted liempo (pork belly) in the freezer so today Mom decided to make sisig out of it. Here are the ingredients:


  • 1/2 kilo pork belly, roasted on coal and then minced (authentic Capampangan recipe calls for pig’s ears and jowls)
  • 5 pieces chicken liver, boiled then roasted, then minced
  • 1/2 cup calamansi juice
  • 2 onions, sliced finely
  • 4 red chilies, sliced
  • 3 tbs. soy sauce
  • pepper
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine



Roast the pork and chicken liver. Mince and then set aside.



On a hot wok, saute onions in butter.

Put in the meat and then season with calamansi, soy sauce and pepper. Serve on a sizzling iron plate. You will need beer and rice.
